Water quality tests will boost campaign to reopen Corbally baths

Limerick City and County Council has commissioned BHP Laboratories to do comprehensive further monitoring at 15 locations in order to determine the source of the low water quality at Corbally Baths. The sampling is part of JBA Consultants’ broader Strategic Assessment of Storm and Surface Water Collection Networks, which includes a process for restoring the popular swimming hole.

BHP began the sampling process on Monday, and it will be repeated every two weeks for the following three months at 15 places designated by the Limerick City Narwhals swimming club.

Kieran O’Donnell, a Limerick Fine Gael TD who has been involved in the fight to revive the Corbally Baths, said that monitoring of the water quality in the area revealed a significant improvement.
