On Sunday night, Limerick GAA hosted a Night of Historical past in partnership with Limerick Metropolis and County Council to commemorate the 100 12 months anniversary of the murdered mayors in Limerick.

Limerick’s All-Eire success of 1921 was marred when the then sitting mayor George Clancy and former mayor Michael O’Callaghan have been murdered by British Auxiliaries throughout the Warfare of Independence.

To recollect these, Limerick legend Mark Foley moderated the occasion with friends and Professor Gearoid Ó Tuaithaigh, Dr. Brian Murphy, Sharon Slater, and Thomas Toomey.

Over the course of two hours, they’d talk about the effect of the tragedy and the legacy left behind.

Afterward, Limerick GAA secretary Mike O’Riordan revealed the brand new commemoration jersey, which is on sale for a restricted time on O’Neills.
