‘IN PAIN’ Vicky Phelan gives heartbreaking cancer update as she says she’s ‘never been so sick’ 2022

Vicky Phelan, a campaigner, provided a distressing update on her health, revealing she’s “never been so sick” following her recent treatment.

Due to her illness, she had to withdraw from Charlie Bird’s Climb With Charlie on Croagh Patrick.

Mum-of-two When Vicky, 46, went through radiotherapy, she was left unable to walk on her own. She was forced to use a Zimmer frame.

Phelan also stated that she will spend less time on social media in the future since she wants to make more time for her family.

In an Instagram post, she wrote, “It has been a long since I’ve posted…there are solid reasons for it. Nothing could have prepared me for what happened after I warned that I might go quiet after I started radiotherapy.

As a result of difficulties from my radiotherapy treatment, I’ve spent the last two weeks in this room at the Milford Care Centre in Milford, New Hampshire, recuperating.”

Over the past two weeks, I’ve never been sicker or more in agony than I have been.”

I was unable to walk without assistance as a result of the radiotherapy, which made my suffering even worse.

“I have only recently been able to walk without the aid of either a 4-wheeler or a Zimmer frame.”

Long-distance walking remains beyond me, but I have faith that one day it will be possible for me to do so.

My final radiotherapy session ended on Monday, and it can take a few weeks for the benefits to be noticed, so I’m expecting that I’ll be able to move more freely in a few weeks, but I’m also conscious that my mobility may never be the same again.”

DIFFICULT DECISION

And so, I have had to make the hard decision NOT to travel to Croagh Patrick in April for the #climbwithcharlie, as I am simply not well enough either physically or mentally,” the brave mother concluded.

“The last few weeks have taken a toll on me, and now all I can think about is getting better.

“Charlie has already been excellent about it,” says the student.

Additionally, Phelan said, “I’m going to reduce the amount of content I share on social media in general.

Spending time with my loved ones is the most important thing for me right now.”

If somebody isn’t clear, I’m sorry. Because of this, my health has deteriorated to the point where it’s now difficult for me to function normally.

“I want to thank everyone for their continuing encouragement and well wishes. It means a lot to me that you are here for me.
