The University of Limerick’s Chief Operating Officer and Registrar will step down at the end of this month, it has been confirmed.
Gerry O’Brien, a member of the University of Limerick’s Executive Committee, has tendered his resignation, which will take effect on January 31. He was also a previous vice president.
Members of the UL Governing Authority were notified of his departure late Monday night, and the whole UL community was notified via email at midday on Tuesday.
He is also in charge of a number of critical strategic projects, such as the implementation of the University’s new digital strategy, the transformation of the City Campus into a significant landmark development, and the oversight of the University’s position in the Strategic Development Zone on the North.
