Joe Rogan is someone who nearly needs no introduction. It’s darn near impossible to survive as a male between the ages of 15 to 35 in this contemporary moment without being surrounded by his ubiquity.

But whether you know him as a comedian, the world’s highest-paid podcaster, color commentator for the UFC, practicing martial artist, or human DMT silo, one thing is for certain – the Joe Rogan fitness and diet regimen is certifiably intense. And depending on how Mr. Rogan is currently looking in his fifties, it seems to be delivering results.

Before we start, I feel it’s necessary to give a caveat of some form. What you’re going to read is incredibly particular. It may represent a challenge for many of you – and not in a “Grr, I’m going to come out on the other side stronger for it” kind of way.

I’m talking about a training routine and diet that could prove destructive to the wrong people. There are further components that people might not have ready access to, such as sensory deprivation regimens and cryotherapy (thus why they haven’t been dwelt upon). So take everything with a grain of salt.

Anyways, here’s the Joe Rogan fitness plan and nutrition plan, at least the details that Rogan revealed through various websites. Not that we won’t be addressing the various other internet subjects surrounding now one of the most renowned persons in entertainment – not what Rogan hosted, Rogan won, or what Rogan schedules outside of this very particular topic. We won’t even be talking about his Comedy Store scandals. Only this diet and training plan will be discussed here.

Eating Habits

The two key characteristics of Joe Rogan’s eating habits include:

  1. A ketogenic diet (largely carnivorous)
  2. Intermittent fasting
  3. At various times of the day, consume a lot of lean meats. As a staunch promoter of hunting wild game, the man is well aware of his passion for scavenging for his own sustenance.     A diet rich in vegetables and game meats, usually from wild animals, is the hallmark of a healthy diet.

  4. For the Rogan family, nothing beats elk meat as a source of lean protein. There’s a good reason he loves the wild game to the standard steakhouse fare that Joey Diaz enjoys with him on a regular basis. Wild game is free of growth hormones and steroids, making it low in saturated fat, as has been repeatedly stated (as well as other nasty byproducts). In addition to the obvious “clean” protein, there are numerous other advantages, including the fact that you won’t feel sluggish, bogged down, or sleepy after eating wild elk. Rather than, oh, roast pork belly, shall we say?
    In the morning, champions start their day with eggs (intermittent fasting).

    Grass-fed Butter and Honey on Sourdough Bread – Because he’s only human.
    In spite of his preference for meat-based foods, Rogan is a good guy and eats a lot of greens. Vegetables include kale and spinach as well as avocado, string beans, broccoli, and jalapeno.
    Pickled cabbage, or kimchi, is said to have anti-inflammatory properties.
