Ryan Reynolds: ‘Football is a unique brand of gorgeous torture’

According to actor Ryan Reynolds, “beautiful suffering” may be found in football.

As part of the arrangement to take over Wrexham AFC in February 2021, Hollywood celebrity Rob McElhenney and creator of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Rob McElhenney purchased 100% of the Wrexham Supporters’ Trust and invested £2 million.

The pair have been spotted at the club, where they have been spotted watching games and taking gin shots in the local pub.

“It had its own distinct brand of grandeur and excitement before I got there,” Deadpool actor Reynolds told ITV’s, Lorraine Kelly.

“Rob McElhenney and I both enjoy it,” he remarked. It’s obvious that this is a labor of love.

It’s been both the finest and the worst thing that’s ever happened to me in terms of football.”

As far as I’m capable of comprehending at this point in my life, I’ve never been subjected to a more beautiful form of agony than this…

“I adore it with all of my heart and it also hurts my heart on a pretty regular basis,” the actor, who is now promoting Netflix’s The Adam Project, said.

To help the swelling number of Ukrainian refugees, Gossip Girl star Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds have recently committed to match any donations up to $1,000,000 (£750,000).

“I’m awed by how many people have stood up,” he said to Kelly. Within a matter of hours, we’d been matched dollar for dollar. Neither my wife nor I take it for granted that we can do this.”
