‘RIP GARY’ Tributes paid to Meath man Gary Reilly found dead in Los Angeles days after vanishing
TRIBUTES have been paid to an Irish teenager found dead in the US.
A night bus carrying Gary Reilly from Meath was last seen on May 3. He died two days later in Los Angeles.
His family and friends started a massive search for the 28-year-old after he vanished.
“Help bring Gary Reilly home!” read an internet banner.
“Last known location: May 3, 2022 bus from Bakersfield to LA.
“28/Irish/green eyes/brown hair/6’2”/200 lbs.”
He died on May 5 and his body was recognized days later.
Gary’s passing prompted tributes.
“A child going missing, young or old, is a parent’s worst nightmare,” remarked one.
“R.I.P We will miss you. My heart goes out to the Reilly family.”
Another person wrote: “Rest easy, Gary Reilly. He was taken from us way too soon. “I’m thinking about you and your family during this difficult time.”
A mutual friend of theirs shared a picture of them online with the caption, “11 years ago when a lad had hair.
“I hope you get some rest, Gary Reilly. You left an impression on everyone you came in contact with; you won’t be forgotten, brother.
Another person chimed in, saying, “I found out yesterday afternoon that Gary Reilly had passed away.”
“I want to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed and who helped spread information. I believe that at this time we ought to offer members of our family and our friends some privacy.
