OUT OF OZ Eoghan McDermott replaced as voiceover on Love Island Australia as show takes on Cork comedian

This season’s Love Island Australia narrator, EOGHAN McDermott, has been replaced.

Channel 9 has confirmed that Stephen Mullan, a Cork-based comedian, will be taking his place on the show.

Channel 9 has confirmed that Stephen Mullan, a Cork-based comedian, will be taking his place on the show.

It was also thought that he had been replaced when he was not in the trailers for the third series of the hit show.

“Irish comedian Stephen Mullan joins the team as the show’s voice,” a Channel 9 spokesperson told Extra.ie.

The craic will be provided by us, as I’m aware that everyone in Australia is still suffering through difficult times.

RTE confirmed Eoghan McDermott’s departure from his flagship 2fm breakfast show with Doireann Garrihy back in March.

Announcing the news came three weeks after the TV host took an unannounced annual leave of absence, which was claimed for “personal reasons.”

EOGHAN’S DEPARTURE

Doireann and Eoghan have been hosting the 6am-9am slot since the station chose to drop the Breakfast Republic show, which included Jennifer Zamparelli, Bernard O’Shea, and Keith Walsh, in January of this year.

The team took home the trophy for Best Breakfast Show at the IMRO Awards last year.

Some of her other television presenting credits include Frenemies, a young discussion game show for RTE2, and Immeal Geall, a bilingual magazine show for BBC Northern Ireland (both in Irish).
