MONSTER CAGED Evil foster father jailed for 11 years after raping foster daughter over 1,000 times across six years

One of the worst foster parents ever sentenced to eleven years in prison has been found guilty.

Kelly Kemmy, 24, bravely waived her right to anonymity to name her abuser, Stephen Murray, 56.

She told Stephen Murray in the Central Criminal Court that she is a survivor and will not let the abuse define her.

The accused pleaded guilty to 14 counts of rape, two counts of oral rape, and one count of sexual assault between February 2009 and December 2015.

He has no priors.

Kelly Kemmy’s harrowing victim impact statement was read into the record at her foster father’s first sentencing hearing.

The woman was hurt “in a way that no human should be hurt,” the statement said.

“The abuse feels like life,” she said.

She said she came “craving love and acceptance” from him.

She described how the man asked her to lie on him and be his “blanket” and how he made it seem “normal”.

“Your small body for your sexual gratification,” she said, describing the “excruciating pain” she felt.

The woman said she felt “confusion and shame” as a child trying to comprehend what was going on.

Then she added that she felt completely alone and that there was “no safe place”.

She felt “trapped, helpless, and terrified” and was afraid to report the abuse for her younger brother and sister’s safety.

CONCERN FOR SIBLINGS

The woman claimed she “cried herself to sleep” and that Murray would silence her if she refused to let him rape her, leaving her siblings puzzled.

She waited until she was 21 years old before telling her siblings about the abuse.

The abuse had a greater impact on her than she had anticipated.

BRAVE STATEMENT

“Today I begin to live. “I am determined not to let this define me,” she said at the end of her statement.

Judge McDermott said Murray’s actions amounted to gross sexual abuse, and her victim impact statement showed that it caused psychological, physical, and emotional distress.

The judge described the offenses as

the grave. Murray was sentenced to seven years in prison for sexual assault.

Murray was sentenced to 12 years in prison for rape.

Murray’s early guilty plea and expression of shame and remorse, along with his good work history and positive engagement with probation services, were all factors considered by Judge McDermott.

So the judge suspended the final twelve months of Murray’s sentence on the condition that he keep the peace, be good and attend all probation appointments.

Both sentences will run.
