A LIMERICK woman who won a new property in a GAA prize draw says she has entered a new world.
Lorraine Ni Ghairbhith won the Westport GAA Win a House Draw and currently owns a four-bedroom townhouse.
The Bruff woman purchased €100 for a raffle ticket after seeing an ad on Facebook.
“I’ve always stated I’d like to retire west, but a single mortgage makes it difficult.
“People wonder if I’ll sell it, and I say no way! I’ll live there.”
Her life-altering news has flooded her with well wishes.
“The outpouring of affection has been overwhelming. I’m glad it won’t be ready until March so I may appreciate the joy. The world seems to have opened up to me.
“Nothing is set. Now I feel like anything is possible. It’s magical, I can’t believe I own a home.”
The educator presently resides in Dublin but says she has always wanted to move west and live by the sea.
said: “But maybe the cosmos is looking out for me!
“I’ve been attempting to buy a house in Dublin and I’ve bid on a few but I’ve been beaten to it.
