GRIM FIND Death of man
The man found dead in the Finglas neighborhood of Dublin earlier this week has been submitted to the Garda Ombudsman.
The body of 21-year-old Craig Gifford, who was reported missing on April 20, was recovered in the River Road area of Ashtown yesterday.
Mr. Gifford had a brief interaction with garda prior to his abduction, and the matter has been forwarded to GSOC as a result of this meeting.
An autopsy will be performed tomorrow, according to the Garda, and the results will determine how they will proceed with their investigation.
“Following the discovery of a body in the River Road area of Ashtown this afternoon, Saturday 23rd April 2022, the missing person appeal in relation to Craig Gifford has been suspended,” a garda spokesman said.
“The Garda Sochána would like to express their gratitude to the media and the general people for their cooperation in this case. “There is no need to take any more action.”
