A recent burglary in a Limerick area underlined the value of good neighbours.
A man heard the alarm go off at his neighbour’s house in Raheen, and called the gardai.
“He rang the gardai and walked out onto the road,” said divisional crime prevention officer Sergeant Ber Leetch.
When gardai arrived to check the call, they found the back patio door broken. The burglars fled unharmed due to the security alert and the neighbor’s fast measures, say Gardai.
Sgt Leetch advises notifying a trusted neighbour of your absence so they can keep an eye on your home.
