Capital One and most other banks use the Prime Rate to set credit card interest rates. The Prime Rate varies with the Fed Funds Rate. The Wall Street Journal’s money rates column lists the Prime Rate. If your credit card or loan has a variable APR based on the Prime Rate, it will change whenever the Prime Rate does.
Check your monthly credit card statement’s “Interest Charge Calculation” section to see your APR.
