Britney Spears deal for tell-all book

A new tell-all book by pop star Britney Spears has been confirmed to have a hefty publishing deal.

Page Six, a US tabloid, broke the story first, and it has since been confirmed by numerous major media outlets, including Variety, an industry journal.

Spears was upset by statements made by her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, in her own memoir, Things I Should Have Said, which was published just a few weeks ago.


Arrangements for conservatorship:

A 13-year conservatorship, a legal arrangement that meant Spears had little control over her finances or everyday life, was the reason for the new settlement.


In November, once Spears was granted the freedom to select her own legal counsel, the limited legal framework came to an end. According to the star’s shocking public testimony, which lasted 20 minutes, she was compelled to go on tour and had an IUD contraceptive implanted against her will during her conservatorship arrangement in June 2021.


Spears called the court in the summer of 2013 to request that the agreement be terminated, stating that it was causing her “far more harm than benefit”.
