BACK IN ACTION Derry Girls star Saoirse-Monica Jackson shares snap with co-stars as they start filming season three
Earlier today, Saoirse shared a photo on Instagram, revealing that they have begun filming the series’ concluding episode.
She posted a photo with her on-screen father and grandfather, who both appear in the show.
Saoirse wore black and white trousers, a green jumper, and a white jacket in the photos.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you Ireland’s Eurovision Entry 22,” Saoirse captioned the photo.
Jamie Lee O’Donnell, a co-star of the show, also shared a picture of herself on the set.
Jamie’s picture, on the other hand, was of a script that was surrounded by highlighters and pens.
“Guess what…. #derrygirls @channel4” she wrote.
People who were excited to see the show’s cast back on set flooded Saoirse and Jamie with comments on Instagram.
“OMG WE MISS YA’LL DERRY GIRLS SEASON 3 IS COMING,” Rejie wrote.
“I can’t wait for series 3,” Clare said.
“Just what I needed on a Monday,” Shal wrote.
‘C’MON SEASON THREE’
“There will never be anything like Derry Girls….C’mon season three!” said another.
This comes after Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee confirmed it was “always the plan” that the third series would be the last.
Lisa confirmed that the “five ridiculous teenagers” will “grow up” and “become adults”.
“It was always the plan to say goodbye after three series,” she wrote on social media. “Derry Girls” is a coming-of-age storey about five wacky teenagers who slowly… very slowly… start to grow up as their hometown changes and Northern Ireland enters a new more hopeful phase.
Dubbed “Derry Girls,” this collection of poems is a love letter to my hometown as well as to the people who shaped my personality.
